It's a nightmare in many respects. More than six years' blog and project posts are now not available.
For years, MSA Design our web software has been iWeb and, once you've used this amazing software, using anything else is a bitch. Why? Because iWeb is Apple's approach to web design: you can drag anything to anyplace on any page. Yes, it generates some very messy code, but who cares? My computer?
Apple has declined to modernize iWeb, however. And trurhfully it was never a package intnded for anything more than the causual personal blog. Using it for my business was a bit of a stretch. And now that MobileMe is deprecated, well, it's time to move on.
I looked at about every package out there and just about went with Sandvox, but ultimately joined the crowd and now using TypePad. There's plenty of power under the hood, even if TP isn't as design-friendly.
And truthfully it's possible that TP will be better than iWeb. I'm just getting into TP, figuring out how to adapt it to my own needs. The first thing I've done is make the web address– www.msadesign.com–go directly to the blog, using what TP calls 'Pages' to show things like project pages and the like.
Pages will also be used to satisfy my Plant ID students and for anything else that is static. For today, though, enough is enough.
