Who is Michael Spencer?
And what about all of those letters after his name?
Michael Spencer is a smart and experienced Landscape Architect with a long and interesting career. His experience includes land and site planning at the largest scales, and, more recently, a deep and substantive body of research related to planting design and tropical plant materials. He has the 'big picture' skills of a modern Landscape Architect, with the detail focus that makes clients very happy.
Mr. Spencer ASLA MLA is a registered Landscape Architect in the State of Florida, a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the owner of MSA Design, Inc. Mr. Spencer earned his Master of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University in 1985.
His projects include landscape design and land planning. Michael has been practicing Landscape Archtecture for 30 years and lives in his own garden home in Naples, Florida.
Mr. Spencer is a published garden writer; see his weekly columns in the Naples Daily News. He is currently working on a new reference book for garden designers in Zones 9, 10, and 11 with Al O'Donnell.

How We Can Help- What Do You Need?
A Walkabout? Sometimes, especially when plant selection advice is needed for an existing project, a simple 'walkabout' answers the questions that you have. Example: perhaps you are an HOA and need a phased plant list so that you know what to plant as existing plants begin to age; or you are a do-it-yourself homeowner, needing only plant selections. Fees are $150/hour, two hour minimum, and can include a Report with photos, or not, according to your needs.
Or a fuller design process? For larger planting projects, or when a new project is envisioned, or if hardscape design is needed, or if official submittal drawings are required, then you will need a fuller design process and Plan. In this case, fees start at $1800.
